Urchy, the light that you se at the end of the tunnel is not always another train. You will knock it over soon enough.

Cheers Pierre.

The whole point of this old girl was to have a crack, almost farmed that intake manifold out for someone else to do but I’m glad I didn’t. Learning something new each time I work on the 250.

Hey all,

Bonnet hinges are replaced. Not the easiest things to do when you are a lone wolf but hey, I got there. Was easier than lone wolfing the gear box that’s for sure. The new ones mounted up ok but have a little slack in them. They were budget ones so I’m certainly not complaining and ultimately, they work. A few alignment issues are there that I am unable to remedy but I’m not stressed, she is no oil paining.

Replaced the fuel pump as it developed a leak, also can’t hurt to have some shiny stuff there when it comes to the roadworthy. Haha. Fingers crossed the tray will be back on in the next couple days.

Changed the oil as it smelt very much like petrol. Found some sparkly stuff, proceeded to close eyes and pretend I didn’t see it. B) All but confirms the engine knocking noise is things going rub rub. Oh well, just needs to get through the roadworthy, fingers crossed.

Do any of you know what else would use a window winder handle with a side grub screw on a spline? Need to replace 1. See below. If you have any ideas let me know.

I think you will have to take the sample and wander around the wreckers to find a winder.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Morris, wreckers no longer allow us to wander around their yards for insurance reasons firstly and time wasters as well. As much as I loved doing just that, wandering around a yard they don't allow it any more.

Sometimes with over centre hinges you have to go up to go back, or something like that, keep having a fiddle every now and then.
Is the nocking sound attached to no or very little oil pressure, if it is might be worth dropping the sump and having a wee look
