77louie400, that looks decent to me mate. Enjoy it why you can.
Thinking I should probably just fast track the engine swap. I do have a spare 300 I could put in it which doesn’t seem as blocked up. I’ll sit on it for a few weeks and make a decision.
Thanks for all the tips. Regardless of what I do I’ll try to clean this block out so that’s done for the now or future.

If it was me, I would take the thermostat out put it together take it down to the creak and connect the fire pump up to the bottom of the motor and run a few tanks of fuel though the block and then do the same for the radiator, them little Honda pumps pump a lot of water with a tank of fuel

Steve, that would also be nice to have in the shed. If you don’t enjoy them, no sense having them I reckon. Make them your own and there is nothing wrong with doing it different to what others do.
Had a look at the heating issues. The photos below tell the story. Radiator is blocked up. I’ll have a crack at sorting it out myself, have done a bit of soldering in my time, worst case scenario I pay for someone to fix it or it gets replaced. Before I started driving it I looked at the inside and it didn’t look near that bad. The bit of use has certainly moved some rubbish in the cores. The coolant would have no chance of dropping heat with all that rust in it either. I performed 2 radiator flushes before getting it rego’d and after the second it was clean as. Haha a mate suggested adding a radiator sock once I get this sorted. Sounds like a decent idea.
Oh the joys.

The rusty looking water may be Repco Irontite...........it was the IH original fill in Inters in the 60s/70s.and did make a nasty looking orange stain when the water ran out.................as it did every time you stopped the motor.

Thanks for the idea, have already jerry rigged up some fittings to give that a go on the dam electric pump. If it works ok I’ll grab a Honda pump from a mate and will give that a blast.

If there arent allly parts ,it might be worth a try using oxalic acid (sold as deck cleaner) in the cooling system..........my brother uses this to remove deposits of iron that settle in his irrigation system (his bore water has a lot dissolved iron that turns to rust in the air.)

What John said. I use it as bought from Bunnings, or you can pay heaps more for it in tiny bottles called radiator flush.

Cheers guys. Probably wouldn’t hurt to give it a strong dose of a product like that.
