Tambox, I think you are over thinking roadworthy inspections, the inspection people are not design and quality engineers, some things they can only visually inspect for leaks, wear distortion, damage. Etc.... unless there is some common knowlegde trade giveaway like colour coding or ( i am guessing) copper used for brake lines, then they can only accept what they see.

Good luck.

After all these questions, I did wonder how RWC inspectors worked it out.
After all the variable options.
I have built up many cars/ motorcyvles/ trailers for RWC, just wondered if there was any black and white definitions for something that weighs 4 times as much.
Not worried about it, just inquisitive, its a new world to me.
Now copper is an interesting idea, good burst pressure, would look fantastic polished and sealed.
But we all know copper and vibrations/ movemt don't work.
This conversation is great.

Pure copper was often used in hydraulic lines but is now banned, bundy tube is fine. Copper remains good for steam engines which typically run at 140psi and more.
NHVR has published a guide for heavy vehicle inspections.

Thanks to all for the help so far.
Have got it drivable, now trying to sort out the wiring problems.
10km test drive tonight, with some new air valves and hoses.
Replaced/repaired starter relay wiring, no jumper lead to start any more, just press start button :-)
Most of the wires are numbered at connection points, it seems 2 digit number for earth and 3 digit for others.
Any advise on fault finding this style of wiring would be appreciated.
Better still, anyone have any idea how to get OEM wiring diagram.
It has been maintained by a dozer driver.

Tambox there will be 2 wiring systems in most trucks that age, the one that came with the truck and the one that every driver that's been in it has added when something did not work, for what ever reason, when I got my Louie I remove almost a garbage bin full of wires from behind the dash and under the bonnet, and I am still years later trying to get all the wiring back into the wiring harness and pulling bits of wire out
