That's coming up really nice. I'm curious; which engine is that?

Appreciate the updates, Jarrod.

I think they had the smaller 250ci Mexican Chev ..........the cab overs had the 292 Chev.............these motors were never much good ,being a glorified car motor.

Thanks John, I had thought so, but I've never seen one in person. Looks very similar to a Holden red motor (not surprising).

Jarrod.

I thought somewhere he said it was a 300ci, motor, my TJ5 has a 214 ci motor, which looks similar but without the fancy rocker cover , forgot to add, they were an Australian made GMH motor

I have seen one 214 in an ex-Telecom J2, but it didn't look like that one. I swear I remember a TK with a 3.3 Blue motor in it in the early 90's. It was the only thing the Econovan could pass up the Toowoomba range.

The motor in the pic looks like an overgrown Red motor .....it is a Mexican Chev ,made in two sizes Ive seen 250 and 292 ,and IIRC a 300 odd cu in size too..............this is not the old pommy 300 petrol ,which was super heavy ,being diesel block design .......the Chevs have a name for knocking out the undersized rod and main bearings if pushed too hard.

Well it says BEDFORD on the rocker

It's a Holden 202 out of an old HZ, coupled to a trimatic transmission.
I'm not looking to haul logs, but did want something economical & reliable.

I recall seeing a small 16" wheel Bedford cabover at the truck show ,with a 350 Chev motor ............supposedly all the Bedford and Chev 4 speed boxes would bolt to any Chev motor ,as GM kept the bolt pattern standard............the 4 speed Bedford box is a copy of the Saginaw ,with a different looking pressed steel top ,as opposed to the US box with a cast iron top.

"it's an old 202"

Well, that definitively answers that question!

Thanks.
Jarrod.
