Well back home again and as promised a few pics of a project under way at one of the caravan parks at Urunga. The owner was away at a drag meeting and this will be his tilt tray to cart the Cortina that sits under a blown V8, no pics of that sorry.
The truck is very straight in the chassis and the body is remarkable and wish that all restorations were as good to start with as this. As shown in the pics an engine transplant along with a matching 6 speed auto is being mid mounted. Not sure but maybe a Ferd transplant and once done will make for a very good reliable cruising truck with a lot of classy looks. The garage was locked up so no idea of any other parts around like the doors but would assume they are both there. Of a night you get to see the signs lit up and really makes a good view.

Ùrunga hosts a Hot Rod meet each year for Chrome bumper cars.

Really high profile in the Rodding Community.

Looks like a Barra engine. Should move along nicely.

With the Hot Rod show up that way each year I think you mean the Valla Beach Rod Run. This runs for a week each yearbut the highlight is the Saturday run in the morning into Nambucca Heads shopping centre in the main street where they line up 5 cars across the street all well spaced and for a couple of hundred feet. Quite a lot of rids can fit into that space. At midday they all fire up and take off back to Valla for lunch then a run in the afternoon.
I have not heard of a rod run at Urunga but would be interested to know more.

Maybe not so senile and maybe its me. As they are based at the caravan park at Valla Beach van park I have only known it and seen it advertised as the Valla Rod Run. It is quite possible that they do a run during the week or on the Sunday to Urunga.
I think we should chalk this down to both being right.

Already too committed to the Karrier, gone too far to give up on it now!

Just as well that you didn't get Swishy's Inter. The Karrier just fits in your shed as it is.
