The asbestos fuss was kicked off by Toyota to sabotage Great Wall imports .Toyota knew they were full of asbestos,and forced the govt to make several years sales of GWs prohibited imports,and they had to be recalled and either destroyed or shipped back to China.......I know they went back to China,and maybe they were reworked a and sent back (or not)......supposedly pickups are not allowed on the roads in China,because owners overload them so much..

Mark60 I think the Loadstar in a dual cab is a nice looking truck. having a lot of similarities to the Australian trucks maybe, import a cab and mount to a C or D chassis.

The Toyota story sounds nice but is a bit sus, especially as the Commonwealth doesn't listen to anyone that matters and is a law unto itself. Aus is a tiny market for Toyota so why would they bother and anyway Great Wall utes are their own worst enemy. Saw one advertised recently - only 5 years old and perfect body but seller was asking more for the tray than the vehicle which had a broken engine.

Find a Dual cab Inter or Dodge & do a Cut & shut.. Should be heaps cheaper than bringing something in from O/S
