Gee thanks for the response !
I'm about to take the tray off and clean everything up and fix the 3 speed diff (the air change has been disconnected) then put it back together for historic rego.
Meanwhile attacking the rust in the cab.
Might put a small beavertail on the tray at the same time.

Trouble is it'll only carry 6 tons on historic rego which is less than half the empty vehicle weight.
Keep you posted.

Hello,
I found Xtroll absolutly hopeless, i sprayed that stuff into a Loui cab until i was swimming, still rusted, best i have found if you dont want to paint or after you paint it was a mixture of fisholene, (which is main compoment of Xtroll and WD40), buggar, a senior moment, ahhh dear, what do you called that rust proofing stuff that sets like grease, Textol, thats it, 70% fish to 30% textol, fish oil breaks down on it's own but it penertrates carrying the textrol with it, just thin it down a bit, linseed oil is good too, i used to coat all my tube type rims with vegie oil, very light or dust band sticks, i used to work in salty areas

Thanks henryox,
Sure you don't mean Tectyl ?
Used to use that for new car rustproofing in the 70s but it may be banned now.
It penetrated but then formed a skin of it's own over itself so even years later it was moist below that skin.
Horrible for one's own skin when putting it on though.

Anyhow let's hope my rust is not too bad.
Worst case is I have to remove the windscreen to get at it.
Hopefully will lift the tray off it next week and can then get it in the shed to work on the rust in the dry.

Well can't say much about the turbo either.
Seems to work but as yet I haven't even got round to finding out how to raise the cab so there's lots to do yet.
However I did notice today it's charging at 36V which is quite a bit too high so must have some sort of adjustable regulator. Must look ....
