Right, been some time huh? I took a few photos to show the projects are still going strong; the one photo of the old shed is where my uncle and I are thinking a new shed will go to preserve and continue working on the Dodge. The aim is to keep it out of the weather, but this process is slow; it will be done in time everyone! :D

Thank you all for keeping up with the projects, I'll keep you all posted as soon as possible.

Depends which was first, and which was last, it's a fair guess you have gone Gasless, there is one there that's a pretty fair effort for Gasless, 1 good weld in 5 is about average for Gasless, you might get them looking better but you will never change the average. Buy a bottle of gas outright then budget for a bottle a year, that is one less beer every time you open the fridge, I use about a midsize bottle a year, just on around farm jobs, if I take on fabrication jobs which I have sort of retired from' then it can be a bottle or more a week, but a $100 a hour with the GST, plus costs it means nothing, I am Dual trade  industrial electrical and welding so most jobs are frames, brackets and the like, post a photo in a couple of weeks and we will look at a rating.

Progress made looking at that sample mate.
In 5 runs you’ve gone from cocky crap to a neater long run with reasonable penetration.
Not easy with old bits of steel etc as 77 said.
Just practice, particularly watching the pool of molten metal and where the heat is going.
Good on you for having a go.

A couple more things, if it's new and clean I use MIG (or tig) if it's old and shitty use a sick (welding rod) and "if it has slag you drag' if no slag push so gasless drag
