Does anyone know what colour the 6 cylinder 245 motors were originally painted in the late AT4 series Dodge trucks?

It is likely Australia followed the American schemes. The Jeep engine reference refers to columns above which I cut out, this list is Chrysler. Interesting that every Chrysler engine from 1924 to early 60's was only one colour - silver.

The old dodge I learnt in had a reddish coloured engine , it could have been a rebuild though

There was a blackish tinge to the head gasket area, especially at the back from memory, was a few years ago now

245's came in various colours in Valiants. I've only seen 225's in dark red and blue.
My very late dodge 300 has a black painted "heavy duty" 245.
I'm curious to find out as well. 245's can't have been in AT4's for more than a couple of years before the D5N came out?

Series 1 Dodge AT4 - Slant six (225) was yellow with a black fan & starter. High-performance slant six (225) Series 4 Dodge AT4 was blue.   The 225 slant six engine was available from 1962 and was replaced by the Hemi 245 in 1971 and used in AT4 114, 129, 229, 329, 353, 460-6, 475-6, 560-6, 575-6. Hemi 245 - blue as per brochure for the D5N truck engine availability.

1971 and 1972 saw the use of the 245 Hemi engine in the AT4.
