That's the style of sender, at least the connector. I'm just not sure of the thread. Its stored with family up country so I can't remove it to check.

Cheers Lang - I managed to buy some training manuals (yellow ones) the other day. The sensor is not covered in the Engine (503) or Electrical (510) manuals, although it has instructions on testing the water temp gauge in the instrument assembly...
