Yes, there is access to the top of the master cylinder under the drivers seat, tight access, but it is what it is
Thanks for tip on Power Brakes Adelaide, i have looked at their website and they offer stainless steel relining
I agree, eventually I just want get the vehicle road worthy again and Historic Club rego and the occasional weekend drive so the vacuum / air brakes are not important to me, so yes I hope to delete that aspect of the breaking system

Michael, forget the "air" reference to your system. It is purely a vacuum assisted hydraulic system. Although Bedfords were not known for having a great set of brakes, they were adequate for their day and worked well enough for many companies, large and small, to get good service from them.
You said that the vacuum system is not important to you. Sadly, without the system working properly, the brakes will be as good as waving your hand out the window to stop as the peddle will be too hard for you to push to apply the brakes.

More than happy to stand corrected, are you saying that the vacuum / air reservoir included in the pics I provided is part of the entire braking system?
I was under the impression that that tank was an add on for the air brakes used for towing a trailer with air brakes
If it’s an integral part of the braking system I am more than happy to assess it’s condition, repair / replace
I guess what I’m saying is that I am happy to loose the connecting outlet / inlet at the rear of the vehicle

Yes the vacuum tank is a must on your truck. The only possible air will be air in the hydraulic brake lines just whete you don't need it.
So no need to mention air brakes on your truck as they are not fitted.

Interestingly I have a 1954 Fergy TEA 20, there is a dirth of information on the interwebs and how to videos on youtube for these little tractors as well as parts, in fact I have a Zenith 28 carby refurb kit on the way compared to little Bedford trucks
At the risk of showing just how much I don’t know about trucks I’m considering doing a youtube video series, something like Novice truck restoration

Sorry Michael, I wasn't very clear about the vacuum system being essential to your braking system. Yes, you do need the system to operate correctly, but you don't need the extra tank, hoses to the rear or the hand control. In saying that however, having the extra tank alone, still within the system, gives you a far larger volume of vacuum in reserve to "power" assist your hydraulics, if that makes sense.

All good, thank you, I’m pretty sure I have my head around it now, good to know that incorporating the tank would enhance the effectiveness of the braking system
A brief cursory look at the tank makes it look in not to bad a condition, but won’t know completely until I get it out
When I have the Master cylinder hopefully rebuilt by eg Power Brakes I’ll get them to evaluate its condition and if it can be reused / reconditioned or replaced

Dee wanted a TEA20 as her tractor. Knew the one we bought needed an engine rebuild but I was under strict orders it was her project not mine to do. I was only allowed to crack the big heavy tight bolts plus I'm grateful to have been allowed to find n undo the sump bolts n cop 50 plus years of dirt in my face. Engine kit back then was around $550.00 for an in frame kit by a company in Spain. Some of the popular brand kits are rubbish with oval sleeves.
