Hi All, My recollections are based on NSW fleet colours, as in different states companies were often affiliated with other companies and may have had different colours.
I dont remember BORAL much B4 the takeover of BMI, maybe 1980? BMI was Blue Metal Industries, which was the old BM&G, later BMG, Blue Metal and Gravel and AZTEC Bulk Carriers which was earlier POZZOLANIC bulk Carriers. Both these fleets were nearly all Mack excepting some smaller 8 wheelers, ACCO and 1418's on single/bogie tipper work.
Late 60's thru to mid 70's BMG was black chassis, red cab with white turret, wheels and bumper. AZTEC was black chassis, blue cab with white turret, wheels and bumper. Both fleets had noticable four digit fleet Nos. In the mid 70;s BMG and AZTEC became BMI, and different liveries were trialled. Eventually settling on brown chassis, yellow on front muguards and turret with white cab, bonnet top and wheels. They had different stickers on the door, BMG or AZTEC.
The late 70's or thereabouts AZTEC bought out WESTERN GOLD, some of the AZTEC trucks were WG's colours, dark chassis, gold cab and bonnet with AZTEC sticker on the door. When BORAL bought out BMI the fleet colours stayed, yellow n white with brown chassis. Just the sticker on the door was the name of the division with BORAL's colours on it.
I think it was the takeover of BMI that really put Boral out there. It was'nt untill this time that they became a mixed make fleet, aswell as more subbies I suppose.CLARK BRICK was also part of BMI.
As for FAIRY & LOVERS and the rest of them thats another story.

Thanks Assessor, there was a lot of subbies in the BMG fleet aswell, so a lot of one off trucks, mostly 8t and 12tonners.

This is an Aztec truck with ACT plates but photographed in Eden 1-84.
I would have called this Yellow&White
Best as I can tell from the pic is that the chassis is yellow, too.
"Orange, orange, white" description would fit this Roughan Haulage S2 seen here in
Jan 1980 working on the F5 at Oakliegh.Roughan seem to have acquired this colour from being subbies to Readymix Group from the mid 60s.Used to run some 1418s and I have seen a pic of an LP338 8x4 (rare) with cement tanks.
As far as the actual shade of orange goes, the paint manufacturer Protec still markets this colour simply as "Roughan Haulage". It just so happens that it is the exact same shade of
orange used by Kalari.Listed on my jigger as PPG 416 KEA DDG4.
TNT in days gone were orange and cream (peaches & cream) and latterly about 50/50
orange and white. Some S2s pulling car carriers were painted the O/W colour for TNT.
