Trevor, when you fit the puller, crank the centre bolt up 'til it won't turn anymore and is under pressure, give the bolt head one good square hit with something like the 14 pounder, if it's anything like my Chrysler rear brake drums it should pop straight off the taper, helps if you can leave the nut on the shaft a few turns to stop the whole lot flying across the floor when it goes, and a bit of loose juice helps also. When you reinstall it smear a film of antisieze or thin grease on the taper to make it easier next time ;)

Thanks Tony Know that old trick from working on motorbikes a long time ago having to get magneto's of when we did engine rebuilds.

Now the rest of you guys have been a bit tough on Stu about his finish now you want me to go and stuff it up and try and weld a chrome nut on it.
Now you have all got me confused which one of these do i tap it to 3/4, 6/8, 12/16, 24/32, 48/64 or .750".

Nuther question i have got both R/H & L/H 3/4 UNF taps which one is best to use.

Trev, you can't tap it to .750 because that's metric! ;D

Stu pat yourself on the back screwed the puller on today tightened up the side clamp which worked a treat, then screwed the bolt up against the axle, got a 3/4 drive socket on a breaker bar and started to tighten it up but at about 1/4 of a turn POP of the taper she came.

Thanks Stu job well done.
