I am very happy with the way they came out.

Cost breakdown was $25 each Metallise, $15 each to send them out to be polished before Metallising and $10 return freight, paid for it by bank transfer, 10 day turn around.

If I could ask a little advice on headlight re-silvering.
How do you get the headlight apart?

If you are talking about modern "sealed beam" headlight units the answer is you bin them. Lamps with acetylene burners had a reflector at the back and I am trying to work out how the reflector is fixed. Anything later tthe problen is usually trying to stop it falling apart!
Put a picture up so we can see your problem.

The glass is glued in on those so you will probably need to get something to soften the glue and carefully remove the glass. Don't try and lever them apart or you could chip the glass or shatter it :-/

To answer your question Slospeed they are Lucas 700 series headlights (1950s Dodge/fargo trucks used them), so did a lot of English cars such as Minis. Very poor light using a double filament blub and generator to power them. I believe they are throw away as it is very hard to get the glass out.

Good news is you can buy new ones. Try this web page jollyrogersmotors.com/node/223
or check on that nasty fleybay.

Hope this helps?

The way to go with Lucas 700 series is to fit an H4 halogen unit (lens and reflector & bulb holder), clips straight in. Motor bike shops that deal in pommy stuff will have. Cibie was one of the best.
