Some images after the water pump and radiator, and the fan have been removed

Is that supposed to look like that, or are you not supposed to be able to see the exhaust outlet?

Does anyone know where I could get a new one of these, and also the gaskets for the pump?

The pump casing itself is quite corroded inside

BSF bolts use Whitworth spanners and even if most bolts on the truck are UNF there are bound to be some Whitworth sizes there somewhere - the fuel unions for a start, and so on. You can pick up Whitworth/BSF spanners at swap meets pretty easily, and there are fewer sizes to cover the range.

Thanks, I will try that.

I have also managed to decipher the model number, it is a TB355, but now I don't know the year.

Also could anyone recommend a brake grease for the brakes?

Hi JBran

Be sure to ask Cunning Stunt (member on here) if you're chasing Commer specific parts. He has a good network.

Can anyone recommend an additive for petrol that works well in this engine (the 6 cyl OHV) and also some sort of grease for the water pump, axles, etc. And also where does the upper cylinder oil go in (stupid question I know), and where are the drain plugs for the upper cylinder, and the sump. And also can anyone recommend an oil filter?

G'day JBran, I have used Moreys upper cylinder lubricant and never had any problems. The bottle tells you how much to add, depending on how much fuel you put in the tank, which by the way is where you put the additive. For the water pump you will need proper water pump grease which is totally different to chassis grease, but if the pump needs rebuilding then it may get fitted with a sealed bearing which won't need greasing. Wheel bearings need a high melting point wheel bearing grease. If you have a Repco store or similar in your area talk to them, not a teenager from some bling store. The sump plug will be located somewhere on the bottom of the sump. For the oil filter try Repco if you have the number or try Auto Surplus in Victoria.
