About Day 5
Well the boys have been hard at it....
Heres a few more pics of the progress....
Not bad for a weekend off!
chocs
The chassis has been blasted and primed..
The decision has been made to go through all the hoses... Most are well due for replacement..
Aeroquip / reusable fittings give you a bit more flexibility in relation to replacement schedules, as the 'Hose Man' isn't standing there waiting with his meter running..
While that has been going on, the boys have been into the cab..first thing to grab their attention, was the combo A/C - Heater unit....
With every turn another 'challenge' arises..
And another new Phillips head screwdriver....
Thats about the 67th one purchased this month....
Couldn't drive a KW without one in the cab... :

About Day 6
Co ordinating a 'quick' rebuild like this can be a nightmare if planning isn't up to scratch..
Every day counts, and 'waiting' for one stage to be completed before another starts won't keep things on track..
As the work continues replacing the necessary hoses, a bit more attention is paid to the cabin...
The hose replacement alone, is well into its second day..
A few 'test' patches on this old paint will best decide which way to clean it all back..
Soda blast or chemical stripping are both effective measures..
With some fibreglass work underway, these head light panels will see service again..
