BJP, try Hardy Spicer at Darra (Brisbane) for a price on the hose.

Seeing you guys are going so good on this project and you will have days up your sleeve before Dubbo, thought I would give you another project to consider LOL.
Its on Ebay at present starting of $9990, just a bit of smoke and heat damage, should buff out on be on the road to Dubbo in two shakes of a dead lambs tail eh?
Have fun guys, I'm mighty impressed with your work and application to the task onhand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What psi rating hose do you guys use ?, I had some hoses made with 1000 psi stuff which I think i a bit of overkill for a truck but I`m most probably wrong.

Thanks bigcam, I asked at Enzed up here and by the time I redo all the hoses they would be worth more than the truck. :BJP, try Hardy Spicer at Darra (Brisbane) for a price on the hose.

Enzed might be good if you work for someone else and need a hose made for a breakdown, but you are paying a bit of a premium sometimes. There is plenty of mobs stock the Aeroquip hose and fittings so you can make them yourself. Brown and Hurley or Highway 1 in Rocky should have all the gear at a reasonable price. Depending on the size hose I would guess $8-15 a metre and the hose ends are about $10 each, again that get more expensive the bigger they get. Quite often if your replacing hoses used on air the fittings are rusty and you can't reuse them.

About Day 7..
A few more hoses made and some further priming around the various chassis areas..
The fuel tank brackets etc. have been repaired and or replaced and are ready for re assembly.
They will be 'colored up' around the mating areas prior to fitment.
The chassis is almost at the stage where some color can be applied..
A little bit of wiring to be sorted out....
The work continues on the cab....
Its slowly coming together but whilst searching for parts it was commented that...
"we probably picked the wrong truck, this one over here would have been easier!"
TOO LATE...the commitment has been made.....
The show goes on!

Enzed, pirtek and those sort of guys will only usually use crimped fittings, can be a pain in the back-side.Proper Aeroquip fittings and hose is definately the way to go,and more importantly from a restoration point of veiw it is original....
Thanks for all the pics and keep up the work guys.
Cheers James.

About Day 8
Just a little refresher on the project..
A 'Day' isn't a whole day either..
What ever time is available at either end of a 'working day', along with a few, "i'll just do this bit" is the time being alloted to 'Dash'.
This is not a 24/7 open check book resto...
Its a few blokes with a personal challenge to get an old rocket ready for a show..
And the clock is ticking!
chocs
The chassis work continues in preparation for reassembly.
Getting things right before the paint goes on!
The exhaust and intake will be setup on a ganty, new uprights shown here, ready to be drilled..
Notice in this shot also, the rear of the chassis has been altered to accomodate a tipper body, this will be returned to the original 'Prime mover' angle...
