Hi all,
Thanks for the updates Chocs.
The boyz are very committed to the challenge they have taken on or maybe they should have been committed!! . I commend them on the work that has been done in such a short time. Well done.
Like any job or resto it always grows into a bigger job! Always seems to be 10 other things to be done first to get the one task you are working on completed. Hang in there guys and can't wait to see the finished truck at the truck show.
All the best. Jon

The uprights of the gantry are mounted now..
Fuel tank brackets are next in line..
The chassis work is getting closer to completion..
Of course there is the constant need for more parts!
Ay! Get away from there!.. yours are out the back!

About Day 9..
No backing off for the weekend!!
All hands on deck as the 'Dash for Dubbo' continues..
Been a few blokes calling in to see if these blokes are for real...Its all happening, don't worry about that..
"You blokes are MAD, Are you serious.. You have got to be joking!"
..Just a few comments echoed across the workshop...along with ay.."get a photo of that...."
chocs
Where were we........Fixing Aerodynes.......thats right....
A few repairs to the cab locks....these too are looking a bit sad and could really do with replacement...
We will see how they Turnout...
With Young Mate on the spanners, a few more parts are added to the chassis, along with some scratches and marks filled ...its almost ready for the color.
Back into the cab and you can see the wiring is really starting to take shape..
Nothing a fleet of Auto Elecs couldn't take care of....
Jacko assures us he has it under control...
I think he actually said i'll guarantee it will start, and everything i can't fix won't work...
The body work is well under way too..
From 1977 to 2007, Kenworth panels are almost interchangable..
Well they look similar at least..
"Maybe this is for the other side?..Nah he said left side..
pull it your way a bit more...."
Ok you blokes, the filler is mixed..all hands on deck!
INCOMING!
wait for it.........

Chocs, it was looking great untill I saw those ugly modern headlight/steps. Mind he might just be holding them up there to see what they look like eh? Everyone to thier own though, just my personal opinion and I'm not the one it's making happy.
Actually, I thought the corner radious was a bit different on the later cabs, but I could be wrong there.
How many cab overs/SAR's/W model's have you seen that they have replaced the 5 3/4" headlights with 7" to make them look newer? I've seen Seattle cabs with the later fibreglass skirts as well.
I might just reiterate one piont though, it's not my money, and the bloke who owns it and is doing the resto has every right to do what he likes, it is after all for his benifit, and I am only making a personal observation.

G'day Camsta...
I reckon it would be real safe to say that the ol girl will still have her old skirts..
They are out the back drying..
This is what happens when you take your eye off a project for two seconds!
Who are those two jokers anyway?
"From 1977 to 2007, Kenworth panels are almost interchangable.."
I think i left out...."with a grinder and some filler

It's surprising how much KW stuff interchanges. I was talking to Ian Watson ages ago at our show at Beenleigh, he reckoned he used all later stub axles and stuff when he converted his 1940's? KW to RHD and it was a piece of pie.
I did think the K100E cab has rounder or larger radious corners to the earlier ones though. Nothing a lot bog and some "blending" wouldn't sort out.

Well Angle...
I dunno if even Lorry would be able to pull this mess back into shape...
There are plenty of theories floating around the workshop..
