Hello everyone!

My name is Dave and i have recently purchased a Diamond T. Im still learning about these old girls so my knowledge is very limited.

Looking to find out more about these old rigs, there numbers in Australia and if they are rare?
Been trying to locate anyone who may also have some body panels because as you will see in the pics, im missing the grill and bonnet.

Im guessing my old girl (whom the mrs named Mater haha) is a 1948 model going off styling ques such as the headlights etc but happy for someone to clarify this as it appears the id tag has been taken off also, so where may i find a chassis number on these?

Here are some photos, my plans for the old girl are not to be going back to original, more hot rod style.... unless its worth restoring originality wise then i will sway more towards original.

Anyway, looking forward to spending some time here and learning more about my new project.

Yes mate you are correct, seems like back in the day the truck was once a National Transport vehicle....

I purchased the old girl off my work, i work in a rock quarry and i actually saved her because it was about to be buried under a heap of boulders!!
All i did was ask a curious question.... next thing i know its home safe and sound.

as for rodding it, im still figuring out a few finer details.... ride height and suspension system etc and as for wheels, i do like the originals, can someone tell me their size as i cant read the tyres.

Engine wise im looking to fit a big block FE 390 ford & Auto trans. Why? Because i got it cheap with a stack of new parts off a mate.

So can anyone steer me towards at least a grill???

This is a great forum, very good atmosphere. ;D

They would most likely be 20 inch rims, with a sidewall width of 6.5 or 7.5 inches. These are a rare size these days, but google 'mrf tyres' and there's some good ones on there :) ;) :D ;D 8-) :P

g'day diamond .. that above pic looks pretty way out in its own peaches and cream paint job ;D ;D 8-) 8-)

....as for yours, check on the ''Old Kwikasair SAR's'' thread, go to page 21, reply 400.....could well be your old jigger ?? 8-) 8-)
