Hi cunning, what a gem, a great feeling when you finally nail what your chasing after so long.Remember the Dodge up here in Bathurst just out the road from where I live.Spotted it one night after fixing the old guys dozer for him.Had a yard full of great toys ,but when he died most went to scrap.Luckily the truck didn,t.

Well done, Cunning. As a long time lurker here I have followed a lot of your posts, in particular the rebuild of the Commer. Glad you finally got something that has obviously meant a lot to you. I get the same feeling when I manage to snag a 1/25th kit to rebuild like the ones I had as a kid.

Hi OD, yeah there was only one Dodge owned by him, I think I heard somewhere along the line that four came to Australia (might've already said that), anyway Max has often spoken about Jimmy Hamburger, I'm pretty sure he was the guy who used to load and unload Max's trailers for him with the Dodge. When he semi retired he said that he needed a truck for his farm and Max gave him the Dodge to use, knowing how well he had maintained and driven it. When Jimmy got sick he and max decided to pass it on to a museum. They first contacted the Sydney Truck & Bus Museum but they weren't interested due to a lack of room (and probably because it only held one passenger
) so it went to Alice. It's a really unique truck.
Thanks for your comments, not much will happen with the Kenworth until the Hume run is over next year but I'll be collecting parts and making a plan of attack in the meantime

That truck and the people involved in helping Bruce get it, and that smile, is what it is all about.
Way to go, Bruce!

Hey Cunning, i have a roof scoop if it's any good to you?
From memory it came off a K125, pretty sure it was an 82 model I think? It doesnt have the brackets, but from what i can see they are just channel anyway.
It's far from perfect, but it looks worse than it is I think, and it will clean up no worries. Free to good home if it's any help to you?
Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard, that would be great thanks, I have been offered another one from a forum lurker down there which I will get but just to ensure it's the right type, which I think it is, I'll take it for sure.
If it becomes excess I'll make sure to pass it on to someone to complete their resto. Will you be at Sandown? If so, and you can get it there, Chappo will be going and will be able to bring it back for me
