I am sure I have seen your truck doing this as you walk towards it to prepare it for a trip

Why are you bothering with Garrison power steering?every truck I`ve driven with Garrison on it steers perfectly at 50-60 mph in a straight line, but go to back a trailer and your standing on the floor trying to reef it around.I put Garrison on my old 69 model cabover as it had a D series Ford power Steering grafted on to it which incuded welding the pitman arm which was a bit dodgy. If your truck has the 5 spoke hubs, you will have to change them to the 6 spoke gunite hubs which have a lot more offset. If you put the garrison on,make sure you change the steering box as well. The power steering box has a different ratio to the manual. If you want it to steer nicely Ross or Hydra Power intergrated are the go.

this old girl has shown up on another thread as a SWB prime mover in maroon and white, still at the tafe.
it shouldn't be too hard to find the chassis number.....just beside the gearshift area on the top flange of the (rh) rail
hope that helps..cheers

Muzza. The 76 model I sold to rockwiz had power assist steering and worked good. No trouble with the wanders and easy to back. chasie no was 402398.
Sounds like you've got a good project there, good luck with it.
