Dave,
Mainly to keep the body work and interior as close to original as possible. i have a complete work shop manual which is fantastic but lack,s cab interior detail of hood lining, seats , door trims, floor coverings etc. Once I work out how to post pictures I will attach some to this thread.

The Holden cab and the imported English cab would be lined using slightly different techniques, Basically, from what I have seen thin wood is fixed to internal frame members and linings and trim are tacked (nailed) to that. The roof lining uses hood bows same as cars of the era.

BBS if the hood lining (and back of cab) are the same as My O then the lining is a product similar to very thin masonite that they have probably wet then pressed in a mould and as Mammoth says its all fixed to timber bows that stand on the top of the walls front and rear.
I stupidly yanked mine out after it started to annoyingly sag over the driver... :'(
A resto is not on my radar.... but have not seen a product yet that I can see going in as a replacement... a spray on foam might end up being what I chase up.
Any other lining in the cab was paint & a rubber floor mat.
