I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

The tailight doesn't look too bad. Carefully twist it so that the body is at right angles to the base and get a plastic (or preferably glass) jar and cut it to suit. the globe holder looks fine. An ordinary single filament globe is easy to find. You might even get one at a swap meet. Unused army green (khaki) ones appear to be quite common.
