McDonald Transport Autocar..Trying to find it???

Hello All,
I am hoping to get a little, or a lot of info on the possible whereabouts of the Autocar prime mover, which belonged to Bruce McDonald, of Mcdonald's Transport in Adelaide. I did undertake a search some time ago, in the hope of finding it, but last known location was an auction house in Adelaide, circa mid 90's where I am told it was sold as a non running vehicle post repossession!

It is my understanding that this model was a DC9364F, or similar, with an 8V71T GM, set forward front axle, and rounded style fibreglass front mudguards, similar in style to a conventional Peterbilt. One other notable feature of this truck, was that it had the early style Kenworth twin headlights moulded into the mudguards, with the chrome surrounds.

If anyone can help with any info, I would be grateful.

Thank You.

There is a facebok site dedicated to White products in Australia and I'm sure it could be located through that, there are photos on there of it. Are you on fb?

Some play hard to get

Hi mate .. just going by the revival of another thread in the "info on RAAF vehicles" topic on general truck chat, she was owned by Ivan O'Keefe from Kingswood NSW, painted red on heavy haul work...

...not sure if that's before or after the Adelaide repo, but that line of enquiry may be of some help to you....cheers

Hello Phoenix, I know of at least 2 other guys who are looking for this particular Autocar. I've been lucky enough to have seen some old video footage of this Autocar pulling 2 trailers with with sound and the 8v71 playing it's song.
By the way Bruce McDonald has been 2 previous White Truck Musters and is also attending this years White Muster.
Cheers Ray

Hi Mate,
Thanks for your info re the Autocar, do you have any pics of the truck in the red livery, and do you know of anyone who could hook me up with this Ivan O'Keefe, that owned the truck?

Thanks,
Phoenix.

Hi Phoenix,
Bruce McDonald sold the Autocar

To Leon Todd,

Other than the change of colours you can see some subtle difference's like,
the battery boxes and lubefiner being moved, plus the outline of a stone guard on the front.
The next unit could be what you are looking for.

Thanks LN700,
They are two great photos that I have never seen before, it is still a great looking truck in every livery!....I would love to see any more pics that you have of it if you do?, I don't do the facebook thing, so I don't have access to any material on there, but really appreciate you posting these photos!

Thanks very much!

Phoenix.
