What length tray are you looking for? Mate has a couple of inters that he is talking about wrecking.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Thanks mate. Ideally about 12 foot 6.

If you could let me know what he has, that would be great. Thanks

Truck wreckers usually have heaps of trays piled up or still on wrecks. Nobody wants to put an old tray on a new truck and trays normally outlast the truck so the market is small and pretty reasonable prices for good quality units.

Just my two bob's worth. It is really worth getting a tray so the overhang is the legal maximum (60% of wheelbase). It makes almost no difference to driving or parking the truck but it is amazing how many times you will be very pleased you got that extra foot or two.

remember that Inters and Jappas got different chassis widths......nowdays ,you also got to have the tray bolted rigidly to the chassis extreme front and rear, and secured at 1100 intervals max in between,if you use U bolts, you need chassis packing pieces ....you also need wood runners ,and cut rivet clearance holes in the wood.......Grab as much as you can ,cause hardwood costs crazy money.

I have a not bad tray off another inter but been put off using it as all the timber needs replacing and I know it’s expensive.

Any reason why I couldn’t use 25mm ply? 3 sheets would cover the deck.

No I dont see why not, might want marine ply
Most people would put checker plate on now days, quicker stronger and lasts longer
