Just found another project but have been directed to sell something to finance it rather than dip into the treasury holdings. Very sad but I will be parting with my 1970 Commer, 1946 International KBS5 and 1942 McGrath Army round front semi trailer. First up is the Commer.
I just love this vehicle as it it is a nippy and comfortable truck to drive. It has the 6 speed overdrive synchro gearbox giving a cruise speed of 90kmh. Best of all it has power steering. Two speed diff with complete new electric motor and unit. Brakes completely rebuilt 2,000km ago with new everything. Electric fuel pump great for priming!
The 19 foot tray is pretty sad being an ex stock crate. Checker plate but really needs retiring - I have seen many suitable at $1,500 to $2,500. You could go legally another 18 inches longer.
Huge 450 litre fuel tank. All tyres on very good condition. Seats great condition but interior photos look a bit better than it is.
Work to be done.
Paint has faded badly but almost zero rust. No dings. Workshop and parts manuals.
6354 Perkins. This engine was running great on my last trip from Queensland to Newcastle and back. Unfortunately it broke a ring and buggered a valve. The head has been completely rebuilt to new standard and is ready to go back on (with complete engine rebuild gasket set).
The bore in question does not appear to be scored. I believe all that will be needed is to drop the sump and replace one piston. A piston with rings is about $100 and if you need a new liner as well another $100.
Comes with a complete (some accessories missing) Perkins 6354 spare engine. Reportedly running fine but smokey.
Truck in Brisbane. 0439677279
