Being a tight arse doesn't make you a bad person, but it does leave you with more to spend on the repairs.
I guess the more preparation that can be done prior to freighting the cheaper it is as there should be very little waiting time.

True Cobba, the truth is we never know how well repairs are done so I generally buy things with little to know repairs and just do them myself

That doesn't mean my repairs are anygood but rather I know what short cuts I have taken

A potential solution for you.
- fly to tasmainia,
- buy truck and boat and load truck onto boat
- steer boat to melbourne and sell it to someone who is desperate to have a plan to escape the lockdown.
with a bit of luck the profit on the sale of the boat should pay for the truck, boat, fuel and flights!
