This turbo charged Briggs and Stratton might get some of our mechanical fiddlers excited.

The boat builder guy next to me at Oxley was a "engine guru" ie ,he knew nothing........anyhoo ,he put twin turbos on a small block chev in a ski boat ....and talked all sorts of BS ........I had a set of gauges ,and hooked up to the manifold, the motor had no boost at all ,mostly manifold vacuum in excess of what a straight carby would have........didnt stop him talking more BS to his dummy customers.

I think B&S engines were splash fed. Wouldn’t think it would hold up well with turbo boost.

Need oil pressure for the turbo ,too......i couldnt put a turbo on my little D1310 because the Perkins had no oil pressure....at all.......i dunno how the Perk ran without oil,but lots of 354s had no oil pressure, and just went and went.......Not a gauge fail either ,i checked that.

Let's face it, the amount of exhaust pressure from a B&S wouldn't put out much boost to the engine through a turbo that size.

I dont much about the science behind turbos and the maths etc
I recall seeing a turbo drift trike on youtube one day that I seem to recall had a oil pump to feed the turbo bearings
it was only a tiny turbo and I think it made virtually no boost and it was probably a far bigger motor than this

All that been said I reckon if I was teen ag boy that had just built this I would be feeling pretty chuffed with the result

dunno what the go with exhaust going up and down like that is but it might be just for looks

A young friend of mine doing his mechanic apprenticeship has just finished putting a turbo on a Postie Bike. It works and top speed has gone from about 85 to 100.

Paul, I wondered about that Exhaust pipe Too. No Steering Wheel & you would have to be a Midget to get into that cockpit..
That Chain Drive Alternator is Interesting Also..I guess you have to clutch start It..

Exhaust pipe = roll over protection :woohoo:

He could run a small compressor and boost the pressure that way but all would be in vain as it is a B&S engine that just wont stand running under normal conditions never mind trying to boost it. The old B&S would be a better bet to try an improvement on but the newer ones had an issue with poor quality steel bores.
