I think thats what happened to HK T G mirror stalks, they got a revisit on WB one tonners. When a "monaro" left hand mirror was $250 on ebay you could buy the same part number for a WB one tonner for $9.15.
Does anyone know what the Holden V8 option would have cost new for a Bedford? I'd love to get my hands on a 308 powered 4x4 unit, missed one in Qld not long ago due to border closures.

i dont think the Holden motor was an option......Bedford seem to have discontinued the 292 petrol, and the 308 was the replacement.......About the same time GMH decided to dump Bedford in favour of Isuzu.

Sorry John but the Bedford came with either the 253 or the 308. If it had a 253 the decal on the engine cover was" Holden V8 " if it had a 308 the decal was "Heavy Duty V8" On the inside of my engine cover it has a tuning sticker for the 253. My truck was originally owned by Telecom who had quite a few of them in fact there is another identical to mine about 40k away from me. Cheers Kevin.

It sure did come with a V8 Holden
I remember the adds for them in Truck and Bus magazines

Im guessing the same era as the V8 Leyland and Inter cab overs

I even recall adds from GMH to repower Bedfords with Isuzu diesels

I have never seen or heard of them except in those adds, pretty sure they were in Truck n Life magazines

I got it the wrong way round.....I meant the V8 was standard......part of the Oz content rules no doubt......soon as Hawke dropped the tariffs ,bedford was gone in favour of fully imported Isuzu.

My father Inlaw has an old Bedstead that's being repowered with one of those Isuzu Kits..

In the early 90's I remember finding something the Johns-Perry Econovan could beat up the Toowoomba Range - a Holden 3.3 Blue motor "powered" TK Bedford. He later delivered to the shopping mall we were working at. Quite a bit later....

I am reducing the price of the 1961 TK with Leyland 400 and Turner 5 speed to $2500. Alternately If there is enough interest i may wreck it out. Contact me on 0413027932.
