Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

I've been wondering. How hard would it be to set one up as storage for when travelling. I am thinking of something like doors on the ends with a couple of shelves inside. Would have to look better than the waterproof steel boxes I carry to keep stuff together and dry

Hi Geoff,
Just wondering if you had seen this sale

Couple of nice looking trucks, but it was the working fuel tank that I thought might be of interest to you.

Hi Bob
Thank you for thinking of me and the fuel delivery tank for sale. It looks OK and I am intersted in getting one like it but unfortunately it is a long way from Dubbo and it would cost too much to go and get it.

Hi Bob,
I would think the first of these demountable fuel delivery tanks would date from the early 1960's. I took over the Neptune Agency at Peak Hill. NSW 1st January 1966 and the previous agent had not had the tanks for very long then. (A year or two). He delivered a lot of new fuel storage tanks to the farmers duriing 1964/65 and changed them over to receiving and storing their fuel in bulk instead of in 44 gallon drums. All the oil companies were giving the farmers free on farm fuel storage tanks in this era to keep their custom and to try and win customers from the opposition oil companies by offering to deliver and set up a tank sooner.
The style of your tanks was common as Golden Fleece tanks.
As for the correct colour, as in all these situations different people have different ideas, our paint supplier just looked up his books for Golden Fleece colour and we were happy with it.
We got the decals from EBay but a Google search will probably find a supplier for you.
