    From the dying days of Leyland Australia, best bits might be the mudflaps. Will be going to Inverell next week so if anyone is mad keen I can have a look at it.

    Is that Volvo and Detroit on the mudflaps. Swishy will be discombobulated.

    Not sure if the Swish has ever been discombobulated
    but probly bin

    Actually Leyland were still selling trucks here in 1982 .....how do I know this ?..............anyhoo,.typical POS in a country dealer yard ....five broken old trucks with astronomical prices .

    A fellow down the road a bit that Dad worked with a bit, had one with a V8 Perkins motor, I drove a few times for a short distances, it appeared to do the job ok, we had MAN's at the time so it was a bit WTF when you got in it. If you were a bit mechanical and just want to move a few things around every now and then it would probably be a handy old thing, you would be pretty brave if you were going to use it as a everyday truck

    I was mainly commenting on the price ...........seen quite a few nice looking Leylands for around $2000.........yeah ,they did make em with V8 Perks ..........cant recall where I last seen one though...........the people next door could probably tell ya.

    That auction yard at Gatton got a nice restored Hippo ,too pricey for old iron though.
