She'd be a good jigger for club runs with a 471 in it.
I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

I'd think it would be a five speed with a joey box?Shouldn’t that be a 5 speed box?

Yes I would have thought so. I had V8 petrol Loadstar (obviously a few years newer than this AB180), it was 5x3, lovely truck for its time.

AFAIK the early IH and Dodge tandem drives had 5 x 3 trans, some 5 x 4. R180F drill rig near here, R190F too. BCF180, ACCOT and Loadstar.
Worked a Loadstar for a while, V8 changed for a Silver Perkins. Had been an agitator, then 26 ft tray. Handy, steady and reliable. Mostly used the auxiliary box to split the 5 speed, and on steep sites. Had to put the auxiliary in gear for the hand brake to work. Some retrofitted with 610 RR to make life easier, though hand brakes left out.

Sorry, think they should be RF180 & RF190.
ACCOT was 6x4 and ACCOF was 8x4 from memory. White, Diamond and others set up with them too. Tippers and Agis.

Some bitsas around John, before compliance toughened up on modifications.
Years back on here, King of the Road, R200 IH prime mover, 903 Cummins, rear end and chassis 3070. Flying machine by all accounts.
Old boss had IH CD1840. C160 died, so repowered with 3208 Cat. Later fitted 610 RR. Then stretched for long tray with wreckers tandem rear end. Tank of a thing to turn around. Made it work, 16 ton at times but had to keep the weight back off the steer.

I recall going to see Red Roos trucks ...some weird stuff ,like 6x6 Diamond Ts with IH cabs and 3208 Cat motors............he refused to sell anything cheap ,and most of it was still there when he died and his wife cleared it out.........Fir those dont know the story ,he was supposed to build and own a gas or oil pipeline ,but Bjelke double crossed him and gave it to Koreans that were flavour of the month at the time.
