I started thinking to myself maybe 5 years or so ago, I should get one of these before everyone else wants one

I well and truly had missed the boat

Last one I reckon I saw actually working was the night I thought of buying one
Google pulled me down a peg or two
Then I thought, best buy a SAR legend, go grab a new one, nope
Yah missed that boat as well Pauly boy

Looks like a Kenworth and me were never meant to be

Mind you, I have a bit of horn for a Seatle W model with the wide grill, but they were always thin on the ground, so I missed that boat as well probably

I did see one in a yard on the western side of Melbourne a while ago, just about snapped the steering coloum off the ute when I spotted it
Actually bought what I stopped for but they werent interested in seelling it
Must give them a call as they may of changed their mind, but I doubt it

Paul

Drove a SAR a little, a W model is far better.

I remember being in awe of these blokes sitting up high towering over my lowly Commer as they shot past.

I know how you felt Lang, as kids we sat in dads unloaded Commer coming home from Homebush sale yards as Paddy Wards V12 W model flew past with a tanker load of fuel.

I remember as a teenager, watching the startup of Trial Bay Haulage with their AECs pulling the tankers and, being the son of a pommie truck lover, I loved to see them pull up the hill past the pub in Nambucca Heads, till one day, around the corner came the S model. Totally different look and definitely different sound.
