GAWD, lookin' at that dash gives me goose bumps, too many years behind one and my piles is even shuddering from the memories.
The worst memory is every fortnight, on the Friday afternoon I had to take the 1710 to the mechanics for a service, picked it up Monday morning, got a lift up to the mechanics with the company ute. Dirt road coming from the mechanics to town and this road was used by about a dozen people who walked greyhounds along this road twice a day, so for two days with very little traffic equaled lots and lots of little piles of land-mines, get me drift.
Acco bigger than the ute, you can't dodge all the land-mines, hot summer day Acco gets real hot real quick, just got to wind down the window and boy, was the aroma of these land-mines delicious.
Full frontal windscreen creates a vacuum out towards the mirrors so as you run over each land-mine, lot's of bits got stuck up under the mudguard, then all the glorious aroma's are just sucked up and into the open window.
Aahh Acco's , just wish I could forget 'em.

:DWacko Greenie that made me laugh, l could imagine bits flying up onto the mirrors and under the truck. At least all the other dogs would be able to piss on the wheels. Podge

I replaced the big wobbly ball at the end of my gearstick today. I ordered the exact orginal knob from the super Scout website in the States:
www.superscoutspecialists.com/store/default.aspx
It's screwed straight on. That's the great thing about Inters, so many parts for the Aussie ACCOs are interchageable with US Inter stuff.
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Barry,
It was good to met you today, the first forum member I've ever seen in real life! A shame the tacho turned out to be electronic after all that. Will keep you posted if I find a black rimmed VDO one if you still want the Steward Warner.
Cheers,
Joe
