G'day mate
would you have an electronic dizzy to suit a 345 or a reasonably accurate speedo to suit an '81 Acco B?
Or for that matter any 345 spares small enough to be mailed to Adelaide? Cheers

I've got an ACCO-B speedo which you can have, I'll see if I can dig it out for you.

cheers mate, the one I've got works but is about 15 kms behind at 85. Bad enough that 85 is flat out without being told you're only doing 70! :-[ Let me know a price

You can have it for nothing, I don't have a use for it. If your bus has had a diff ratio change or different sized tyres fitted this can also affect the accuracy of the speedo.

wheels and tyres are as per build plate, 10 R 20s. Diff I can't say but it came as a pretty well unmolested ex-school bus, still had the seats in it. Top speed is about 85 km/h on the flat which I thought sounded about right? I haven't got a tacho but it sounds like I'm wringing it's neck at that speed. Seems happier to sit on 80. I'm assuming the only reason to change the diff ratio would be to give it a better top speed, which it doesn't seem to have, so my guess is the diff is original too?
Having said that, a taller diff would make the speedo read slower wouldn't it? And this thing seems to run out of puff really fast when you show it a hill. Now you've got me thinking. Where could I find the actual diff ratio and what it was supposed to be?
As for the speedo, I gotta give you something to cover the postage at least. I'll try and PM you my postal address.
If I chuck it in and it reads the same, I'll have to assume the diff has been changed and I'll have a spare speedo
Cheers

sorry about the silence acco, I work evenings so I'm only on the computer mornings.
I'm specifically looking for an electronic dizzy to suit the 345, but any other spares would be handy to have; fuel pump, water pump, starter. But I'm struggling to think of much else that would be small enough to post over here. I'm also interested in a 4 barrel manifold but I doubt that would fit in a postpak! In a nutshell I've got a bus running a 345 but I don't have a single spare to suit it (only played with cars previously) so I'm pretty much on the scavenge. What have you got?
Cheers

Ah, okay. Sadly, I sent a stuffed but complete short 345 v8 out of a LoadStar to scrap. It stillhad the heads, rockers, covers, manifolds, sump, flywheel, etc. No one wanted it.

I do have a few others, mostly complete engines.

I am buying an Acco with a V-392 in it.
It has the 4 barrel holley and manifold. Will fit 345.
MAY be interested in selling complete motor or carb and manifold.

The truck is ex tasmania fire service (it is my profile picture) and has done a GENUINE 66782KM from new. It is fitted with a electronic distributor. Goes like a kitten. You would get a great run from the engine. Something to think about.

Also have an International D 358 Neuss diesel in an
Acco 1830B. It goes well.
