Hi all
I have a friend with a Inter al110 ute that he restored back to original condition 10-15 years ago and now wants to sell it,but dose not know what is worth.

Can anyone tell me what it would probably sell for.

It is a 1952 Al110 series 6 cyl column shift manual upgraded from 6 volts to 12 volt,Repainted,Retrimed and in good org condition.

Any help would be much appreciated Thank you Tim

Hi Gary we are south of Perth in W.A.
Sorry no pics,i acually haven't seen the ute for a number of years, but have been told it is still in good condition.
My Mum asked if i could help an old famliy freind to sell his ute,Thats why i posted on here as this seemed the best place to find out what it might be worth.
I have serched the web and can not even find what price any of these have sold for in the past.
Has anyone seen what a clean standered 51-53 Al110 has sold for in the past?
Just after a ball park figure,i'm guesing around $10-$12 thousand but i might be way off the mark with that. ::)
Will try and get a pic ,but will probley be next week before i can.
Thanks for any help Tim

There's several AL-110's currently available .. a couple of which are partly restored .. and around $3000, is top asking money for these old rigs.

You have to keep in mind that $5000 will get you a very nice late model car with moderate kms .. and ready parts availability.

Old trucks really have no major collector value, because they're depreciating liabilities, they need to be registered at relatively high annual cost, and the number of people interested in them, is relatively low.
Only a minority of people have the storage room for trucks or old utes. The majority of people live on small residential blocks.

If it was a very rare model in exceptional condition (say, a 1930's Diamond T), you may have a chance of getting good money.
However, there were a lot of these old Inters built, and they aren't rare by any stretch of the imagination.

We love 'em, because they're the vehicles of our childhood, or early working lives .. but as appreciating collectables, they are worth no more, from one year to the next.

g'day onetrack...did i say you are font of all knowledge?.. what i really meant was that you're a FOUNTAIN OF WISDOM!!! ...not until we get the next boom (15to 20 years away) will we see some possible upside to our collecting or restoring efforts... and i still reckon it's worth playing with these old things, if only for our grandkids sake when they become of age they can say to themselves...geeeez.. look what pop owned..(either through ridicule or admiration!)

cheers

;DHa ha no burst bubbles Gary, though if i put up a figure i'm sure to get some feed back.
I undersand that without any pic's it's hard to give an accurate figure, but your info gives me a good idea of what he can expect to get.I will try and some pics soon.
From what i'm being told it has been fully restored and is still in the same condition as when it was finished,so should suit somone after an allready restored and regoed ute.
Where do you think would be the best place to advertise,on here and ebay or is there any other sites ect that might be worth trying aswell.
Thanks very much for your replys.
That was the info i was after. ;)

g'day sub 10 and all i think there is a lot of merit in buying an already restored truck if it suits.... a variety of reasons may apply ,like being time poor but loving old trucks, or simply the desired truck may not be procurable ( or economical..even if you found one) other than the restored one available, or even an itch has to be scratched...usually for sentimental reasons and....there it is in front of you.
for these and other reasons some people will pay what you want and that ends up surprising everyone so stick to your own research on what the old girl may be worth because any thinking person can factor in man hours worked in a restoration that can never normally be recouped at sale time.

cheers

Detective, I'd buy a restored one if it was what I was keen on at the time, it's an expensive time consuming effort restoring anything, even a CHEP pallet jack. LOL. Big question if you do buy one that has been done is "how good is the job?" Mind if Sub10's truck has been restored 10 years ago and looks allright it will either come from a dry climate or be a good job. There was one for sale for quite a while on the right side, nice bit of gear, I don't know weather it sold in the end, maybe some of the ATHS blokes would know? Getting a good dollar for it might improve if it was taken to the odd show, a bit of a chance someone might fall in love with it. Good luck with it, they are a nice looking ute.
