Rod, Mack NR clamps - as in the Model NR or does the NR refer to something else?

Hi Andy. The whole rear end of mine is off an NR MACK. It's taken me about 4 years to find that out. A guy down your way, Gavin Spence, was a great help.

Q:? How many of them wheel clamps do U really need

could B 2 ways to solve problem

<1> just use standard type wheel clamp wedges n use not 1 but 2 wheel spacers to take up the gap B tween duels ( Wheels spacers R available in different widths)

<2> Use standard type wheel clamp wedges n make up 6 spacers n weld to flat part of spoke, they need to B made from heavy material to match the profile of where the inside tyre rim kisses the wedge doo hikee on spider spoke

Rod, NR rear end? Cool. I spoke to a bloke recently who Deadly Dave put me onto re an N-series Mack. It's just a rolling chassis with an engine and he's grabbing the engine. I forget who it was now, will have to ask Dave.

I don't REALLY need any, as such. I was able to get a different one grounddown to fit.
So in reality, I would like one to replace that one and if possible one or two for spares as they are not readily available.

Unfortunately, they are now out to the maximum legal (?) width of 8ft.

What I have thought about is a one piece metal band (spacer) that goes all the way around the inside of the rim, between the spiders and the rim.
By having all these metal plates between the spiders and the rim, this allows the wheel to be tightened off-centre. Not good for balance

Thanks Swishy for that info.
No, the clamp is just that, a clamp.
There is also a spacer (painted silver) hand made that fits between the rim and the spider. The clamp then tightens onto this.
