Good work Melon in keeping another piece of history alive and if that cider fest was before haulin the hume and the same set of events unfolded he mighta flew home got his photos and his bag and said " Im comin with ya son ". You took 600 lts of fuel with ? I spose you could have come across a blue Transtar which had run out of fuel , Good thinkin Melon ! Cheers Rob

She's a slow old girl but just keeps going. I ended up downloading a speedo app on my phone and the fastest we saw was 44mph. I would have thought the wings flapping on the swan on the bonnet would have made her faster...
Funnily enough, no bug got in the way of the windscreen for the entire trip.
Pulled up for the first stop at Stockinbingal at about 0700 after an 0500 departure from Rustyville:
Prettying up the main drag of Batlow:
A return visit to her old home:
One of the highlights of the trip for me was Pat reversing up the wet leaf covered driveway to park in front of the old shed. A bit of wheel spin as you can imagine but a feather touch on the throttle had her going nicely.

As glorious and joyful to the eye as restored and repainted commercials can be and are;
Isn't there just something warm and special about an old banger getting around in it's last set of genuine working gear?
Slightly torn and maybe even a bit tatty, but well mended and worn with pride and confidence. . .
On ya mate, a fine lookin' truck.

Well actually,
On closer inspection of the photographs,
I think I can see a Hotrod in that one.
How does the "bonnet" open/ come off?
I see the side is a sort of single barn door arrangement,
but how does the top open?
Does it have a fully detailed engine bay with chrome bling and billet goodies?
It would still be all original and operational mind.
No, truly.
How does the bonnet work?
lol

Hi Pat,
It is great to see Pop's International in good hands, I wish he could see what you have done. I am Phillip Quarmby's granddaughter. I used to spend time with Pop at his old depot. Thank you for the memories.... he would have been wrapped to see her home again... you have done a great job.
I wish you got to meet him, he had a heart of gold, and would have done anything for anyone. We are looking for images for you... they are on slides though.
If you would like to know more about Pop let me know.
Regards,
