Several weeks ago, the Ol Chocs reckoned we needed to go for a run, so the stage was set to take a short run up to Boort & call in to see Crackers at the caravan park. 8-)
Ballarat was the meeting place,

Basil jumped in the Tranny with Chocs, then on to look at truck depot to view some lorries from the past ::).
Nibbles & drinks courtesy of Crackers before tea at the pub, then
:-X.

Sunday arrived,

Daybreak, near sub zero temperature tested some battries on one Cummins,

GM powered rockets just polluted the air ;D.

Sun morn after church, procession out to a property to view some art work, made from old spanners

You just never know who may appreciate art :)

A great weekend, little Dodge behaved beyond expectation,

Big Thanks to Crackers & his better half & family, & I am sure others will post some of their photos as well.

Howdy,

A few questions have been asked about a few ol bangers heading to Boort this last weekend. Mostly as to why it was not advertised and which club organised it.
To clear the air, this run was nothing more than a few mates going for a drive to see uncle Crackers. Nothing more, nothing less.
No club was involved with the organisation of this run, nor was any club regalia displayed.

Basil

The spanner sculptor is a man by the name of John Piccoli.
John is a true gentleman that has spent his life confined to wheel chair and only started sculpting 13 years ago after retiring from farming.
Many thousand spanners have been consumed in his work. Some of his sculptures are getting up to a ton in weight and the tallest I saw being a 7m high marlin.
The shearer below is very detailed.

Thanks for the Pics GM & Gilly ;)
Looks like a very nice place,
Loved the story about the Sculptures and the gentleman who did them. 8-)
So Boort must be like a spanner magnet, I always wondered where my missing ones went :o :o
Will have to make a visit there soon [smiley=happy.gif]

Cheers

Wasn't it great to see just a few mates headed off in their trucks for the weekend, should be more of it.

Some real great pictures and from the reports I'm getting I missed out on a great weekend.

Now that's got me thinking, Will have to make some calls have got something in mind.
