In the 1950[ch8242]s Boeing installed a turbine engine in a Kenworth truck and put it into service
with a freight hauling company. The engine weighed about 200lbs, 2800lbs LESS than the
diesel it replaced. It worked well for a couple of years but it had one draw back, fuel economy.
It literally got 1.5mpg! Diesels of the day would average 4mpg, a colossal leap. This was one
neat experiment that we knew nothing about!

Well looks like I have been heavily out voted and will have to turn my allegance to Volvos...
Sorry Binder but I will have to back out of the deal with the N-series,as you know from another forum Grenfel I have a habit of backing out of deals... And the reason is that I have got on to a G-88,I've measured it up and worked out I can fit a spare engine I have here and also a wide radiator to suit which I thought was a larger capacity than standard but as I've learned on this forum I was wrong...
I have noticed some of my posts here have been disappearing???? James.
