...that yellow beast is a heck of a lot older than it appears....it has a 3 piece riveted roof dating back to the last of them around 1966 (in the states), and the ''W model'' type side grab handle....

....also i'm pretty sure International Transport may have gone by the wayside a while back?? ......

What's the thinking behind those long wheelbase jiggers?

A confused caravaner? Demented Hot Rodder? Or is housing so bad in the states that they have to carry their entire family around with them?

So little work available that they need a small house to live in between jobs?

Or have they just lost the mental plot with nothing else to do?

Plus half their gross tare would be spent on the tractor.

Surely the main purpose of a truck is to haul freight?

Passing strange.

Did hear from sumbody about Wheel base
The yanks had a restricted trailer length
eg:King pin to rear bumper
or kingpin to center of rear suspension

with no restriction on prime mover truck length
so D yanks had Drom boxes to cart sum xtra payload etc Bhind truck cab n a 5th wheel @ rear of truck

Me thinks they outlawed drom boxes as cartn a payload so the yanks made the space into sleepers or homes

They don't have any corners in the US... Here, you'll be able to drive these things on two streches of Autobahn in Germany or Holland but that's it.

There are lighter bridges here too, but you can't sacrifice maneuverability in this way :o

That's more like it, lol:

Those set back front axle K100 were owned by Swiss Friderici who had the largest K100 fleet in Europe. Mostly fitted with 8-92Ts I believe. Pics from Photos camions and Truck Italia respectively.

Cheers
