What's your worst/funniest/oddball FU or disaster?

Man, that's one expensive F.U. That's what you get when you put poorly-trained steering wheel attendants, that are only one step removed from knuckle-dragging apes, and put them in charge of large, expensive, machines. These places like Indonesia and PNG are where some incredible F.U.'s happen.

I recall one episode in the mid 1980's where a heap of new Komatsu equipment had to be barged up the Fly River in PNG, to Ok Tedi mine.
This was the only way they could get the equipment in, there were no roads, the country rises 10,000' in a mile in some places.

This barge was huge, they loaded it with about 4 or 5 dump trucks, a couple of dozers, a couple of loaders, and some smaller items - all new.
However .. no-one checked the C. of G. The barge took off upstream .. and promptly turned turtle .. like 180

Just driving along hit the Jake goung down the darkes forrest on the freeway and looked in the mirror
and could not see the trailer for white smoke.
all guages were normal on knocks or anything
so gave the old penny a toss chucked a huge U bolt
and home i went.
No oil out the manifold no oil in the inter cooler pipe
just shat the seal outa the exhaust side.

rang Mack they will have one in the morning
Just another crappy day in the transport industry
it was only 5 years old too.... arrr well........Mark

You're lucky the truck never caught fire..... have a look at my turbo failure entry and see the mess the thing made of the road under the truck! And that K-Whoppa caught fire.....

That's not a good start to his day...

I found these of my uncles tipper. It had been slowly sinking into the ground over a few days, until this......

It was full of scrapped tractors, so a few had to be unloaded before it could be lifted. :(

I did try calling ya but ya musta been out.

Did I tell you fellas about my little F..stuff up last november.................no...............well.................DON'T run over your $10,000 radio remote control for you sideloader..........the boss doesn't like it and It takes 5 months to be made and sent from Germany.
