Here's a good 'un, just hot off the camera, from lunchtime today, and just around the corner from my shop.

Now, HTF you could run up the ar$e of a big, bright blue, stopped garbage truck .. that was picking up bins .. in broad daylight (midday), on a dry road, mostly sunny day .. has got me beat?
I'd hazard a guess, yapping on a mobile, or texting, was involved?? ..

The Mercedes van wasn't involved, he just stopped to see if anyone needed help.

What is amazing, the driver never got a scratch, and was standing talking to others on the verge. Just goes to show what modern safety features and airbags can do.
However, even so, it might have been pretty messy if a passenger had been in the Hilux .. the garbage truck body was hard up against the Hilux tray body .. :(

I reckon he probably needed to make himself a nice black strong Express coffee, right about this point .. to settle his nerves, before he rang his boss, telling him how they need a new ute, right about now .. :D :D

Gday all,
This happened a few years ago when i was backing my old Lanz onto a blokes c line. The hand brake on the truck was on and she was in reverse but that didnt seem to stop it rolling forward when the back wheels of the Lanz hit the tray..... Luckely when the front droped down it jammed the clutch fork in, disengaging the clutch. A quick change of pants and and some assistance from the front end loader and we were back in business.
Cheers,
Slimline871

O.K., men .. we haven't had a FU story or pictures for a while. You blokes are letting the side down! There has to be a lot more out there, yet! .. with good pics as well!

I must remember to get the pics off my nephew, the next time I see him .. of the bright boys in the W.A. FESA, who went firefighting up in the hills above Perth, with a brand new Landcruiser tray top fire truck.
Unfortunately, it appears someone forgot to show them how to work the handbrake!

The L/Cruiser took off down the VERY steep hill at warp speed .. but was stopped by a VERY large whitegum!

It appears that big whitegums and L/Cruisers fully loaded with a tonne of water, doing 80kmh, are not a good mix!
The Firies had to explain to their boss how they needed a new fire truck! .. even though the old one was only a fortnight old!! .. :'( :'( :'( :'(

Well, this ain't mine .. but it takes a good 'un, to flip a C-500 and triples, on a dedicated haul road .. ::)

This is on the Mt Jackson to Koolyanobbing haul road. The company running this fleet of C-500's are builders-turned-miners, so you can understand why they have equipment and operator problems .. :)

My dad was working out there for awhile. He was telling me this was one there fatals they had out there. The dog whiped around and got the poor guy going the other way. (not shown in the photos)

These road trains are longer than normal with a 7 meter (i think) draw bar on the dolly thats surpose to take the whip out of them but like my dad said when your grossing 300 tonne on dirt theres no chance of stopping it and even in a straight line the back trailer would move atleast 6 foot side to side. And even though theres enough room to park 3 of them side by side on the haul road when your doing 90kph it seems a lot less than that.

Know a guy that dropped a D7 off the float one frosty morning on the roundabout at Wodonga in the 80's reckoned the dogs & chains let go ;) I am pretty sure there were some pics floating around at the time.
