Jimbo, looking at the last set of photo's by BillyP, the rear suspension that has been added is made by "Goth".
You can see the suspension equalising rod very clearly.
Excellent suspension, as it keeps all wheels on the ground no matter what, that is until you jack up a wheel to change a flat tyre.

Was it a Goth suspension fitted in place of the torsion bars Billy

Great stuff Billy
. I used to work for Benedict sand and Gravel and one of the subbies from Marsden Park had a cab forward 8 wheeler truck and dog with a Cummins, he used to drive the snot out of it. Wonder if it was the same truck, red and white and immaculate...

Tec & Werk, .......Good effort.....
Greenie,................Thinking...thinking...Yes rear suspension by John Goth.
Same bloke that introduced pneumatic powder tankers into the country.
(as i recall) but ICBW.
They were a great gismo ,those suspensions, no axle hop, good traction off road,
& very low maintainance & good on road manners. ..........................
Cunning,
Not all that long after i left Alltrans 844 seized the donk (main bearings)
This was nearing the end of TNT etc so i believe it was just parked ,
Could have been sold as is , maybe with out crane & brick bodies ,(maybe)
So could have ended up anywhere , with anything powering it.
Benidict Haulage ????
Did you know a bloke , John Whitehorn , We lived near one another as kids ?
Back to 844.
When PGH bought Zacuba, the truck ,(still with Alltrans) was repainted
dark blue & white (looked good too). So it would have been blue & white when sold.
Not that that means too much i guess.

Hi Billy, when I worked there John was a driver for the guy with the said cabover. John drove the very clean T650 truck and dog. He was a gentleman to me, helped me a lot as a young fella starting out

Reckon it's just the later version of the "day" cab .... Like Ansett used to use ... Not the standard slimline
