Thanks for the post, Swishy!

Seems if that is Abi's old jigger in that blokes shed, she HAS survived!

Maybe 'Old Dog' can confirm the running gear on it? I remember it as originally having a turbocharger on it, used to whistle a bit. BUT, could have indeed been a 250 with a 'smoke kit' on it. Definitely ORIGINALLY a twin sticker, and also had a big back end under it, bigger than the SSHD's. Of course it's always possible that they had more than just the one?

It was over 40 years ago, I can't remember it ever being blue and the front grille looks smaller than I remember, but I have my doubts that that particular truck was the one on Abi's float work. Maybe they had a few of them?
But, in the immortal words of Swishy, I do stand to be corrected!
Cheers, Dave

Billy,
I stand corrected! I was right the first time, dunno where I got Asquith from, gotta stop smoking that stuff!

The 'big narna' as you called it, remember that phrase being coined when they did a lot of work up in the Rylstone/Kandos area late 60's.

Also think they had a couple of 631's on hire to Citra on the ash disposal dam at Liddell, where I first heard the term. Scraper driver offered that he worked for "The Big Banana".

Old Jim himself was a hard but fair man, paid well, but expected his dollars worth.

Talking about Abigano, I seem to remember them having a yard in Asquith, around the corner from Hymix Concrete, but I can't remember the name of the street, except that it was a cu-de-sac and down in a gully. BIDSTBC (that was in the early 70's)

....Nothing wrong with your memory 'oldon'....name of the street was KELRAY PLACE ASQUITH off SAILSBURY Rd. HYMIX was in SAILSBURY Rd. As a boy I worked @ HYMIX, was on big $$$ ($20) there on a Saturday morning, sweeping the yard & shovelling slop.... ::).This included some up close action watch'in all them slimline 892 powered 'KW's & Big A's' come & go.... ;). I could hardly sleep Friday night... ;D. Better than the $2@ hour I got @ MT COLAH FRUIT WORLD packing 5kg bags of spuds... ::). (& hid all the green ones in the middle of the bag. ;D)
