.Recently my wife had a hand operation and we had to visit a physio bloke for a
bit of treatment...............
So we fronts up, sees the lady at the desk and grabs a seat............
Looking around i spots a notice board with a heap of posters etc on it,
what is on that pic ,,,,,,it resembles an old grey ghost,,, i had better have a bo peep.................

Fancy that, its not an old grey ghost after all (well i didnt really expect it to be one
hanging with the medical posters................

Yeah , it turned out to be an electrical bizzo for making medical claims,
similar to an eftpos thingo.................worth a photo anyway.............
So there you go ................
You do have to have a bit of imagination..............

Last weekend our local Ag show committee managed to hold a Min show after last years one being cancelled due to fires. The had a display of cars, trucks and vintage stuff as usual, but the stand out for me and many was the first day out of a "new '38 Mapleleaf.

It was restored from a very rusty relic found in S.A., with most of the cab having to be rebuilt including parts of the roof. The tipping body is original and rebuilt using all the original metal work and hydraulics. The small container on the firewall was a mystery to the owner until the show when 2 separate lookers identified it as a genuine "Red-eX" dispenser.

It definitely is a credit to the owner who did all the work himself.

That Redex was wonderful stuff. I had an old 1980 Gemini that had high klms on it and on a visit to Dads I found a 1 gallon can of the shelf. Lifted the idle an d drizzled a cap full down the throat of the carby at around 1200 rpm. FFS the blue smoke that came out the rear end of the exhaust pipe was thick. I could even hear things going tinkle around the bend of the exhaust pipe.
After 5 minutes I thought this has to stop soon. After 10 minutes I'm thinking about going looking for another car to get me home. Finally the blue smoke stopped and in theory the carbon should now be no longer on the pistons and head. Don't know the real out come, I wasn't going inside there to find out for sure.

Cobbadog, Did the Gemini run any better after that? or what difference did you find?
I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Hi Morris, sorry for the delayed reply just got back from a short holiday.
YES, the Gemini did run slightly better on the run back up the coast from Shitme to Harrington at the time. Seemed to be a bit smoother at idle and use ever so slightly less fuel. Kept it for another 2 or so years after the treatment before selling it for a used VL Commodore.
