Hi roadbossman.

I had a look at the pics myself, and wondered.. ?

As far as I know the only Deutz fitted to the clipper was a V6, F6L614/714

See flxibleclipperclub.com.au/wp/ for many images.

I think I am right in saying that the Deutz powered versions had the 'stacked' rear lights and wider engine cover

But of course IDSTBC :-)

Cheers

Thanks for clearing that up, a mate and I were debating whether or not it was a Deutz powerplant, I thought by the individual rocker covers that it might have been. And yes I did see what was behind it.....................I'm avoiding it like the plague ;)

Some play hard to get

I've seen a few V8 Perkins, the V8 510 and the V8 540. Must admit I've never seen a turbo one though. My old man had 3 or 4 of them over the years so I've got a bit of an idea what they look like. I think Kenny Mopar may have had one in a Leyland too? They are a pretty popular repower for a lot of things this vintage because they do around 2800 RPM and it saves changing the diff ratio.

Anyway, this is what a V8 Perkins looks like, (nothing like a Deutz) this one was in a Commer.

Yep, I agree Cam, you are right - it was convincing by the first pic of what appeared to be individual rocker covers.
Should of known you had it right ;)

I think I can say it's Deffo not a Deutz, on 2 counts.

1. Clippers only had 6 cyl Deutz donks and the pump has more than 6 lines.
2. V Deutz engines generally have the pump covered with a panel to enclose the airflow.
