Were they sold ex Bayswater to NZ ? I thought the Kiwis got their Kenworths direct from Canada. Where is Swishy when we need him ?

these two trucks must have been ordered for export because the line sheets say nz export.its the same with the last bayswater w model,it went to nz as well.as for serial#400003-400007,they remain a mystery.them chassis numbers had to be allocated to something

Ok Guyz
Here'z the goss
I posed the very same Q? recently to a KW man th@ should kno
The 1st few trucks were sent to NuuZelund
reason:
the KW factory @ Bayswater had just started make n them beasts
n they did not want to get a bad name if the new KW'z they made turned out 2 B Lemons
so they thort the futher away, the better
th@ way no roosters to cum home to roost n cause problems
OutaSight.......OutaMind!

Interesting story, were not Kenworth still at Preston at that stage ? Were we the first country to get the RHD K series.

WTF is that bloke in the suit doing?? .. helping guide the K-Whoppa down onto the float??? .. it's pretty obvious the Wharfies never spotted him doing it .. or the entire wharf would have been stopped for a week .. as they all went on strike over job interference!! .. :
I've got a mate who was boss of Komatsu Used Equipment here in the West, and he was overseeing the unloading of a big Champion grader from a ship. One of the wharfies dropped a big D shackle, and Doug stepped forward, picked it up and threw it back up to him, as we'd all do.
The whole lot of the pack of useless f*^%$# bastards, downed tools on the spot .. over job interference .. and they wouldn't go back to work, until Doug wrote out a letter of apology, and the company he worked for, paid $5000 into some wharfies slush fund .. :'(
The companies involved lost 3 days waiting for the grader to move again .. and Brambles float was on hourly hire, all that time .. sitting on its arse on the wharf, unable to move .. because the grader was half on and half off .. :'(
True story .. right from the Man himself .. >

The very first one that Trial Bay haulage had is,as far as I know the only one with the sloped back cabin. It`s residing in Newcastle now.
