Zuffen sounds like Dislexia to me. My Sister has it and at the age of 75 you still have to tell her "Turn Driver" or "Turn Passenger."
She is seriously weird and says she is allergic to peas except in a very nice salad she makes. Last time she stayed with us she claimed that there were too many sultanas in our sultana bread. She said three in each slice should be enough!
Thank goodness she lives overseas and cannot visit very often. She and our other Sister visited for my 75th and I took them around all the sights. When we returned to the City after several days, we all heard her say almost under her breath "Hooray, things to see after days of nothing to see" Because of covid, we could not visit her for her 75th birthday. Every cloud has a silver lining!

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

So it is self-tapper steering. And your problem is?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I don't see a problem. The screw head is tight up against the steering arm. What can go wrong?

It is a wood screw, it should have been a metal screw.

What ever it is fitted to, looks like it's been under water for a while.

Hi,

the shiny disc suggests that it has been in regular use recently.

Geez, I reckon your a bit hard on old mate with the wood screw, thats like "proper!!"
Got my ute home from mid rally once with cable ties- ball joint failed over a crest (scary....)
but the tiny stub of the ball joint was just enough to sit under the control arm.. A packet of cable ties later, and a strap to stop the arm going back, and hey, off we go again! But slower........
