Why don't more trucks have those neat hose reels instead of them flopping around to possibly be caught in the tail shaft.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I think E truk would need a neater recoil arrangement or would need very, very long extension cords. Otherwise all its payload would be taken up with thousands of AA batteries!

Geez, I reckon your a bit hard on old mate with the wood screw, thats like "proper!!"
Got my ute home from mid rally once with cable ties- ball joint failed over a crest (scary....)
but the tiny stub of the ball joint was just enough to sit under the control arm.. A packet of cable ties later, and a strap to stop the arm going back, and hey, off we go again! But slower........

Hi,
this is mine from earlier in the year. 10mm spanner held onto the tie rod end by the nut and the fencing wire between the bolts and the hose clamps to hold it all together. Just wanted to move the car about 500m to get clear of the road and a better phone reception. Managed 30km on pretty ordinary remote track.
Regards,
Terry
Ps. For Lang, this happened about 30 minutes after you saw us playing at the lake, on our way out to the highway.

Seed, no, that not me!! Mine looks much ..stronger....ish.
Gryphon thats pretty good hey? Gotta do what you gotta do..
The ball joint actually broke twice in my ute, so the second time it was easier as I knew it would probably hold well enough to get me home! I traced the problem to the style of ball joint in the VY Commodores- one had a taper, like normal, the other had a groove with a locating bolt. Obviously the joint could still move a tiny bit, and given the wonderful world of rallying is a bit tough on things like that, well sooner or later, bang.
Can't imagine why though...
